Morocco is a year-round destination, but because the country stretches from the Atlantic coast through the High Atlas Mountains to the edge of the Sahara, the "best" time to visit really depends on what kind of trip you are planning.
Spring (March to May)
Spring is widely considered the best all-round season. Temperatures are mild across the country, wildflowers bloom in the valleys around Imlil and the High Atlas, and there is still enough snow on Mount Toubkal for a beautiful contrast against green foothills.
Summer (June to August)
Summer is hot in Marrakech and the desert, often exceeding 40°C, but it is an excellent time for high-altitude trekking, since the mountain trails are fully snow-free and the coastal cities like Essaouira stay pleasantly cool.
Autumn (September to November)
Autumn brings stable weather, comfortable daytime temperatures and golden light over the valleys, making it a favorite among trekkers and photographers alike. It is also harvest season in the Berber villages of the Atlas.
Winter (December to February)
Winter transforms the High Atlas into a snowy mountaineering destination, perfect for ski touring around Toubkal, while Marrakech and the south remain mild and sunny, making this a great season for combining a desert trip with a short mountain excursion.
